Chapter 89 - Eastfield Shopping Center
The big commotion outside the Hunter Association\'s building quickly drew the attention of the surrounding passerby. Smartphones were flipped out, snapping pictures, recording videos, and making calls.
News quickly made its way onto the media, which was just a drop in the ocean on the global scale—that receives thousands upon thousands of news daily.
Even so, the news still managed to reach out to a small portion of the 2 million people living within Silvercove, which was not exactly a small number.
The forums were quickly flooded with hundreds of comments.
[EmoKid21: Kekeke, who is this guy? He is so wicked.]
[CuriousReader49: I can see Branch Leader Johnson on the scene. Ah? It\'s happening outside the Hunter Association\'s building.]
[WaitingForPrinceCharming943: I feel sorry for the old man, but I like this man. He is so handsome. Someone, please get me his name and number.]
[SuspiciouScholar430: Upstairs, you aren\'t a guy, are you? How can his doodled face be handsome?]
[WaitingForPrinceCharming943: ???]
[WaitingForPrinceCharming943: Obviously, a girl. Is there something wrong with your head?]
[AlbionBlack17: Is no one going to talk about how this person just crushed that old man\'s nuts?]
[DragonSlayer86: This person is quite strong, but there\'s something wrong with his head. Does he like breaking people\'s balls? What a monster.]
[GreatSageEqualHeaven02: Kekeke, I can see that the legendary art of Monkey Steal the Peach has not been lost to the ages.]
[SunWuDong541: Kekeke, I see a fellow cultured person here.]
[GreatSageEqualHeaven02: What kind of sh*t is a Sun WuDong?]
[SunWuDong541: It was a typing mistake…]
[NosyLurker725: The two letters are not even close at all. How did you manage to f*ck up so badly?]
[SunWuDong541: …I\'m retarded, okay?]
[AvidReader97: ...F for respect.]
[AvidReader682: @SunWuDong541, F +1.]
[… +202.]
…
Further up the road from the car explosion, an ambulance arrived by a parked bus. A male and female paramedic exited the vehicle before Cao Wudi was carefully placed on a stretcher.
"Just what were you thinking, walking onto the road like that man? Did you want to die or something? You\'re quite lucky," The bus driver spoke with an admonishing tone.
Cao Wudi smiled bitterly at the word "lucky."
If anything, he was very unlucky instead—at least ever since he met the young master, he was.
For some reason, the young master reminded him of his master\'s terrible luck when he trained under the Old Demon\'s tutelage.
No matter how terrible the situation or mess he got himself in for just being close to his master, he would at least survive in the end.
"Seems like a bunch of your bones have been broken," The male paramedic also said, "You\'re quite lucky to survive a hit from a bus."
"I wouldn\'t call this lucky," Cao Wudi\'s lips twitched as he was placed inside the back of the ambulance.
Shortly after, the female paramedic brought over another person on a stretcher, "I found another wounded person down the road. The old man seems hurt pretty badly."
"Damn, what happened to this guy? He looks like he has been ravaged by a bear!" The male paramedic exclaimed with shock, "Ahem, anyway. There\'s room in the back. We can put this old man next to the other guy."
Shortly after, Cao Wudi discovered the Wolf King was placed on the stretcher beside him.
"My day could not get any worse than this..." Cao Wudi wanted to cry as he lay immobilized on the stretcher.
...
After Albion left the scene to avoid attracting further attention, Branch Leader Johnson turned to Secretary Jane, "Remember to register the person\'s name under our branch, so the person doesn\'t get poached by another branch."
"This isn\'t appropriate, right? Branch Leader Johnson? It\'s also against the rules if the person hasn\'t officially joined yet," Secretary Jane mentioned.
"Haiz, screw the rules. None of those old codgers play by the books anyway. It\'s always been a scramble for talents—especially if they are ancient sect disciples that just descended the mountain to gain worldly experiences. The stronger our branch becomes, the more quotas we will receive."
"True..." Secretary Jane nodded before mentioning, "Now that the Wolf King is out, do you still want to recruit that Captain Wudi?"
"Oh! I have completely forgotten about this person! Of course, I want this person!" Branch Leader Johnson exclaimed.
"Probably wasn\'t all that important if you had forgotten the person..." Secretary Jane muttered softly to herself.
Shortly after, the ambulance was stopped before Cao Wudi could be taken away. Instead, he was taken inside the Hunter Association building for higher-level treatment.
...
"Did I lose them?" Albion glanced back and saw no one left. It took him roughly four long blocks before he finally lost the pursuit of a curious crowd.
Most of the group had been young ladies wanting to ask for his number, while others had been news reporters and writers, looking to interview him.
"Haiz... Could it be that I am even more dashing with a doodled face?" Albion shamelessly thought.
Suddenly, his nose twitched.
*Sniff*
"Bleurgh… Dammit, these clothes stink," Albion gagged after sniffing the old man\'s clothes he took, "When were these last washed? Fortunately, I didn\'t take his underwear as well…"
That was a big no-no.
After a quick frown, Albion began searching the surroundings for the nearest clothing store—and possibly a public bath if possible.
Roughly 300 meters down the road, he spotted a big building called "Eastfield Shopping Centre" before making his way over.
…
"Big sister, where are you taking Xiao Hua to play today?" Xiao Hua asked curiously while holding tightly onto Xiao Qing\'s hand.
She was afraid of getting lost within the bustling crowd of the shopping mall.
Xiao Qing smiled before softly nudging the little girl on the head with an admonishing tone, "All you can think about is playing. Tonight, there will be a big event to celebrate Grandpa David\'s 87th birthday."
"Oh, will Mum and Dad be there?" Xiao Hua asked expectantly.
"Mum and Dad can\'t make it because of their work, so they are expecting us to accompany grandpa in attending the event," Xiao Qing sighed.
Shortly after, she quickly shook her head and urged, "Come, let\'s see if we can find something nice to wear, and something nice to gift Grandpa David."
"Eh…?" Xiao Hua was disappointed before she complained, "But I don\'t want to go.. That\'s an event for big people. I\'m going to be bored to death there!"
