Chapter 148 - Mind If I Join?
"Huh...what to do?" Albion softly muttered before flashing a glance to his left and right.
Seeing that no one was watching, he jammed the broken lever back in its place before using his chip card to swipe his balance off the slot machine.
"Albion!"
Suddenly, a familiar lady\'s voice called out to Albion before he glanced over and saw a pair of sisters walking over to him.
"I knew it! I knew you looked familiar! It was you, after all!"
"Yes, I am me…"
Albion responded speechlessly while looking back at Anya and Eleanor Seymour.
It appeared that in the days he had not seen them, they have changed slightly from the subtle aura that they were subconsciously exuding.
Perhaps, a result of becoming Hunters and growing stronger.
"Were you playing pokies?" Anya Seymour casually threw a glance at the 3-reel slot machine Albion was seated in front of it. "It\'s so hard to find a free pokie machine."
"No, I am just sitting here."
"Tch, can you talk normally? Who will believe that?" Anya pouted before saying, "If you\'re not going to play, then move aside for this lady."
"Sure. But I wouldn\'t play on this pokie machine if I was you."
"Why? You think this lady can\'t win?" Anya glared at Albion.
"I…" Albion opened his mouth and paused for a moment before he continued, "You know what? You\'re absolutely right. That\'s exactly what I think."
"Y-You! Are you trying to pick a fight?"
Fire burned in Anya Seymour\'s eyes.
Why was it so hard to get along with this person? It was like every time this person opens his mouth, it would piss her off.
Albion shrugged nonchalantly.
"The last lady to play at this pokie machine lost over 700 games in a row. If you think you can do better, then you can proceed at your own risk," Albion warned shortly after.
"Hmph, I don\'t believe it," Anya snorted.
Albion shrugged again.
He had already warned her. She cannot blame him for what happens after.
Eleanor looked at Albion with a wry smile and said, "I apologize for my little sister\'s behavior, Young Master Albion. She has always been a free-spirit in the family."
"I don\'t mind it." Albion shook his head calmly.
"Ahhh!"
Anya\'s cry was heard shortly after, following a broken lever being held in hand before she exclaimed with surprise, "Why did this happen? What\'s going on??"
Eleanor Seymour\'s expression froze for a moment before she reprimanded her, "Anya, why did you break the slot machine?!"
"I didn\'t… This wasn\'t me… I didn\'t do this…!" Anya Seymour defended, immediately feeling that she was being wronged.
"Then are you saying that the lever just fell off on its own?" Albion questioned her.
"I… Well… You\'re not wrong."
"You are really something, Anya." Eleanor Seymour rolled her eyes at her little sister before urging her, "Quickly put that thing back and let us get out of here before we get in trouble."
"Right…"
Anya quickly jammed the broken lever back in the slot machine and swiped herself off, similarly to what Albion had previously done.
Shortly after, the trio was gone from the slot machine area.
"By the way, something seemed to be going on at this place today. Why is it so busy?" Albion casually inquired after they entered the playground of blackjack and poker.
"You don\'t know? Then why are you here?"
"Can\'t I come to play if I wanted to?" Albion glanced back at Anya Seymour, who questioned him with a doubtful look.
Shortly after, Eleanor Seymour casually answered, "There\'s an auction being held later today. All the top families, new and old, are planning to participate in it."
"Oh?" Albion was intrigued.
If the auction was able to draw all the top families into participating, then the items being auctioned must be extraordinary or, at the very least, interesting.
"But what does that have to do with the casino being busy? Don\'t tell me that all these people here are thinking of fattening their wallets to have a chance in the auction later?" Albion chuckled slightly at his guess.
"Um, that could be one of the reasons." Eleanor responded wryly before saying, "Anya dragged me over because she did not want to play alone."
Shortly after, she gave Anya a blaming glance before the person poked her tongue back at her.
"If you all came with such a plan, I\'m afraid you will all be walking out with less than what you initially came with," Albion shook his head before boasting, "Of course, it\'s a different story for me, though. I am going to milk this place dry."
"Less boasting." Anya snorted in doubt.
After a moment, her stomach was conquered by the pleasant smell exuding from Albion\'s bag of meat skewers before she audaciously reached out her hand.
Alas, her hand swiped at empty air after Albion moved his food bag away.
"Hey! Let me have some! You bought so much food. It\'s not like you can finish them all…" Anya complained.
"Firstly, don\'t touch a man\'s food. Secondly, I can indeed finish all of this with ease," Albion stated calmly before taking out a meatball skewer from the bag.
Anya\'s eyes lit up before reaching out her hand, thinking it was for her—only for Albion to eat it right in front of her.
The audacity!
Nevertheless, Albion eventually offered the meatball skewer after eating all but one meatball left on it.
"Here."
"…"
Anya was speechless.
"Hmph, never mind. I don\'t want it." Anya grumbled before stating, "Why don\'t you show me how you are going to milk this place dry instead? If you can\'t, you have to do one favor for me."
"Well, it doesn\'t matter. Watch and be impressed," Albion stated coolly.
He took a seat at a blackjack table with four other present players before swiping his chip card on the high-tech chip machine.
$50,000 worth of chips were spat out of the machine shortly after.
"Hey, fellas. Ya\'ll won\'t mind if I join, right?" Albion casually asked the four gentlemen at the table shortly after.
"Not at all."
The four players appeared nonchalant on the surface.
But at the same time, they were speechlessly thinking, \'Isn\'t it a bit late to ask after you have already sat down and got your chips?\'
