Young Master in the Apocalypse

Chapter 222 The Yatch

Chapter 222 The Yatch

With everyone on board, the white yacht slowly moved away from the pier. Viktor stood at the edge of the dock, watching the shrinking view of the harbor as Barry and Eva waved their hands accompanying his departure.

They had always been together since he was in the bunker, even before the apocalypse came. He felt a little strange to part from them. Even so, he was confident that everything would turn out fine.

Upon entering, Viktor was able to get a complete view of the grand yacht hall. The walls were a glossy brown made of polished oak, while the floors were covered with a blue carpet embellished with a unique pattern. On the ceiling hung crystal chandeliers, emitting golden light that illuminated the entire hall area of ??100 square meters. Tables covered with tablecloths were neatly lined up on the side of the room.

From his position, he could see several people standing still, watching the luxury of the mega yacht with amazement. Eight members of the Heaven\'s Will guild and ten members of the Templars.

Although he sort of disliked this group of people. Viktor, being the famous young master of the Romanovs, put on a smile and opened up a bottle for them to enjoy. At the same time, he also made sure to have Viez keep an eye on them.

On the upper deck, Jessie and Liza were enjoying their time at the recreation area. There, several facilities were available for passengers to use, such as a gymnasium, minibar, and lounge.

Previously, this mega yacht was a place for the descendants of the Romanov family to either hold parties or simply have a few recreational activities. This yacht only functioned as a means of transportation after the apocalypse came, but its facilities were still well-maintained.

"Viktor! Join us!!" shouted the two girls happily when they noticed his arrival.

Unfortunately, Viktor was not in the mood as he still had his mind on looking for Anna. He still couldn\'t move on with what happened that night. He needed an explanation.

Yet after searching all the places he could access, he still hadn\'t found Anna.

As the yacht sailed further and further across the Volga River, the bright blue sky gradually turned dark and the mutated beasts started roaming the riverside. Like a lamp swarmed by dozens of moths, the mega yacht caught the attention of the mutants on the mainland.

Viktor headed to the top of the yacht, joining the rest of the group in the lounge. The Templars and the members of Heaven\'s Will seemed to mingle as one, feasting on the food served on their table. Viez stood in the corner of the room watching the crowd cautiously, while Jessie and Liza joined the others. The crewmen assigned by Mayor Benjamin served them like kings.

His eyes swept the area for an empty seat, but all of them seemed filled. Then, as his eyes fell near the end of the tables, he noticed a woman with short brown hair standing and waving at him.

"Here!"

Jessie signaled for Viktor to join her as she knew that the man was looking for a seat. On the same table was also Liza, who was eating the food with gusto.

He approached the table.

"Sit over here." Jessie patted the chair next to her. "I\'ve prepared a special spot for you."

As Viktor approached the table, she smiled wide enough to touch her ears.

Viktor furrowed his brows. Jessie seemed to be acting strangely.

It was only when he sat down that Viktor realized his seat was across from Anna.

His childhood friend was at the next table. It was one table away from the other passengers, but Viktor could still see her clearly. They sat opposite each other at a long table, with only flickering candles blocking them.

Jessie, who was sitting beside him, couldn\'t stop grinning. Meanwhile, Liza continued to eat her food.

"I already guessed it; our young master is in love with a woman from a rival guild! So Exciting!" Jessie teased him.

Viktor brought his face closer to Jessie\'s. "It seems I cannot escape your brilliant mind. To be clear, we have a history... that is all."

Hearing this, Jessie became even more excited and wished to hear more.

However, Viktor stopped her with a teasing smile. "Maybe some other time… For now, I just want to enjoy a great time with a brilliant girl."

He then noticed Liza\'s gaze and continued, "And you too… of course."

Under the two ladies\' curious gazes, he proceeded to open a glass of wine and shared it with both of them.

Jessie quickly reminded him that Liza was too young, while the girl would not accept a no. Fortunately, Viez came to the rescue with her special non-alcoholic beverages. All four of them enjoyed the night, enough for Viktor to forget about his troubled mind.

The dinner continued neatly accompanied by the starry night sky and the sound of music. The atmosphere on the roof of the ship felt romantic and lively, nudging people to enjoy their dinner with great joy.

Unbeknownst to Viktor, Anna also was troubled by what she did that night.

Anna looked at her food blankly. She sliced ??the steak into smaller pieces, brushed the potatoes to the edges, and poked around the mushroom sauce that looked more like mud. Not even caviar, the rarest and most delicious food in the world, caught her attention.

Just like Viktor, memories of that night were ceaselessly plaguing her mind.

"Stupid, why did I suddenly run back then? I should have just told him I wanted to go home," she inwardly sighed, biting her lip. She then tapped the plate with an exasperated hiss.

Her strange behavior caught the attention of the long-haired man sitting next to her. The man had been watching Anna mindlessly mess up her food, but he chose to remain silent for the time being. It was only after a while that he finally decided to speak.

"Your mood seems to be as messed up as your food. Is something bothering you, Anna?"

Anna turned to Radcliff like someone who had just been snapped out of her reverie. Radcliff, on the other hand, let out a deep sigh.

"It\'s nothing, Chief, I\'m just lacking sleep."

Radcliff just stared at her with a flat expression as if was trying to read her mind.

Of course, this made Anna uncomfortable. She thought of opening a conversation, but Radcliff opened his mouth first.

"Is this about Viktor Romanov?"

Radcliff\'s spontaneous question caused Anna to choke on her food. She didn\'t expect that the man\'s name would come out of the guild leader\'s mouth.

She creased her brows deeply. "Why did you mention him all of a sudden? This has nothing to do with him."

Radcliff narrowed his eyes. "Then why are you so surprised?"

"That\'s because you suddenly uttered his name," Anna gave the most logical excuse she could think of. However, while her words seemed at least perfunctorily reasonable, she didn\'t realize how high her tone was.

Instantly, Anna realized that she had snapped at Radcliff for the first time. Ever since she first met him, Anna had always seen Radcliff as an idealistic and wise man, a leader who would protect many people with all his might. It had never crossed her mind that she would one day be so rude to him.

Anna hastily apologized for her impulsive act.

"Ah. I\'m sorry, Chief, I didn\'t mean to..."

Sighing, Radcliff put the knife and fork down on the plate. The man leaned back, then fixed his eyes somewhere else. He wasn\'t mad, he just deliberately put on a straight face to conceal his real emotions.

Anna pursed her lips when she saw his unpredictable expression. In the end, she decided to continue eating her food, pretending that it had never happened.

As her rude behavior occupied her mind, hearty laughter suddenly reached her ears. The voice was so familiar that she subconsciously turned her gaze. Viktor was being incredibly close with three beautiful women, talking with an expression filled with joy and ease.

It was supposed to be an unusual view from the young master of the Romanovs, but for some reason, she felt bothered this time.

It turned out that Radcliff was also looking in the same direction as her.

"Does it bother you?" Radcliff directly asked. "That\'s a common thing. He is a Romanov, after all."

"No, it doesn\'t bother me, Chief. You\'re right… That is what he was, and that is what he will always be…"

She turned her gaze back to the steak. Before she knew it, the delicacy on her plate had become so out-of-shape that it was practically unrecognizable. Even she was momentarily surprised by what had become of it.

The woman tried to keep her calm, but the man next to her knew better. Secretly, the Heaven\'s Will guild leader began to look at Viktor a little differently.
