Chapter 104: Unbelievable!
Chapter 104: Unbelievable!
BOOM
The fireball, which was a condensed form of four waves of flames, clashed on his shield. The impact created a storm of flame that blinded everyone’s vision as it burst outwards, smashing the towering walls made out of rock and melting them. The flames seeped out of the cracks and holes and crept towards the members of the three groups.
“Fall back!” Warren commanded after he saw that the walls of Earth failed to keep some of the fire inside of it.
Following his instructions, the members of the three groups leaped backwards, reaching the corners and edges of the arena in a couple of moments, successfully escaping the wisps of fire that tried to catch up to them.
Clank
Clank
Clank
Meanwhile, the weapons charged through the store of flame, and then everyone only heard clanking noises as if the weapons were clashing against something solid.
BAM
BAM
BAM
Then, the energy bombs swiftly brushed past a few wisps of fire before vanishing into the storm of flames, only for the onlookers to hear the sound of explosions right after.
Lisa and the onlookers in support of Elliot gulped in horror that emerged in their hearts because they weren’t able to see what was happening due to the fire covering their vision. They were worried that such ruthless attacks might have harmed him, or even worse, annihilated him.
“Not a single crack on the shield that I made after sacrificing a thousand units of the essence of life, I guess it was worth it, and I have also validated my theory! So, it sure was worth it!” A smile crept up Elliot’s face when he saw that the shield wasn’t showing even a single sign of shattering apart. It’s all because he had used a thousand units of the essence of life to create it.
He concluded that if the godly matrix on his soul consumes a hundred units of his essence of life to realize a single sword, then that sword will be more than enough to annihilate an army of magicians in the magical realm. No matter how much they try to damage the sword, it won’t break. It might be because the maximum amount of magic energy they can use to conjure their superpowers is no more than a hundred units.
Similarly, the maximum amount of magic energy that a magician in the peak of the channel opening stage can use to conjure their superpowers is no more than a thousand units. But it is only a theory as most supernatural cells cannot absorb such a high amount of magic energy without expanding in the bloodstream before exploding, killing their owners along with themselves.
From the above two points, Elliot created a small guide on the essence of life and God’s Breath Manipulation.
[Essence of life => God’s Qi > Magic Energy.]
[1 unit of Essence of Life = 1 unit of God’s Qi = 10 units of Magic Energy.]
[The weapons and shields that the matrix on my soul conjures by using a certain amount of the essence of life can’t be damaged by the elemental or physical attacks of the magicians if their supernatural cells consume a lesser amount of magic energy to manifest them.]
“Thus, it’s safe to say that no matter how many times they attack, the shield wouldn’t break,” Elliot concluded in his mind.
“So, we’re still alive.” Theo opened his eyes a bit to take a look at the surroundings, and he saw that the shield had sheltered them from all the attacks.
“Wow! It’s hard to believe you’re still here!” Elliot said with an expression of surprise on his face.
“Why are you so surprised?” Theo said, a bit taken aback by his behavior.
“I thought you would teleport to safety at the very last second. Guess I am wrong.” Elliot said, with his back facing Theo.
Theo rolled his eyes at him, saying the following words while doing so, “What do you take me for, huh?”
“My bad! I’m sorry for misjudging you, haha.” Elliot laughed it off.
Wondering why John isn’t saying a word and staying extremely silent, Elliot and Theo turned their face to take a look at him, and the first both of them noticed was his extremely pale face. They could also see that his eyes were closed shut, and a nervous sheen of sweat covered his forehead.
“The danger has passed away, bro. You can open your eyes,” Elliot said in a calm voice.
After his words rang in John’s ears, he opened his eyes. He saw that they were still inside of the golden shield and that towering flames swirled outside it. He also saw that there were a lot of weapons sprawled on the surface of the shield.
Finding it hard to believe that he came out of this situation without a single wound on his body, he touched himself here and there, trying to make sure that it just isn’t eyes that are trying to fool him.
“I’m still alive! I’m still alive! Hahaha.” After he felt his safe and sound body with his hands, his brain finally registered that he was alive and healthy.
Theo looked towards Elliot with eyes that tried to convey a sentence, and Elliot understood it.
“Has he gone mad?”
Elliot replied with a bewildered look of his own, conveying the following words, “I don’t know.”
“John, bro, you cool?” Theo asked while glancing at John.
“Why have you turned so pale?” Elliot asked while looking at John.
John showed them a thumbs up and a beaming smile, trying to say that he is fine in a cool way. But the moment he moved his body, he fell to the ground as his legs have given out due to horror
“You sure you are fine?” Elliot asked with his hands behind his back and his legs on the same spot they were before the battle began.
“I trust you, bro, but how can I remain sane when we are literally in the center of the storm? Damn, this shit is bad for my heart.” John came clean as he used his hands to help ease the numbness in his legs before standing back to his feet.
“Let’s focus on the current problem,” Theo said as he glanced at the fire raging outside the shield.
“What should we do about it?” John said to Elliot while wondering whether he has a solution to dispel the fire or not.
“They will extinguish it themselves. Until then, I am going to keep on standing here,” Elliot said with a yawn.
A couple of minutes later, Marshall snapped his fingers, and the flame storm disappeared in a couple of seconds.
Once that happened, everyone saw something unbelievable!
The three boys, who most of them believed to have been burned alive and turned to ashes in their minds, were still alive, and that too without a single sign of injury on their body!
The golden shield still remained as mighty as before!
Moreover, Elliot still remained standing in his spot!
It was almost as even if the sky collapsed, nothing would be able to move him.
